As an important part of SWSD 2018, sustainability has been implemented throughout the planning process and we will continue to do so right up until the final stages.

We currently have some ideas which are being put into place for the conference, with more ideas to follow over the coming weeks.

CATERING- RDS LOCAL SUPPLIERS 

Gahan Meats & Anglo Irish Beef Processors – provide a 100% Irish quality beef for over fifty years. Three generations are members of the Craft Butchers of Ireland.

Manor Farm – award winning Bord Bia approved chicken producer who continue to invest heavily in quality assurance through its highly trained personnel and systems.

Mc Carren’s – located in Cavan the traditional heartland of Irish pig production. Mc Carren’s offer a full range of high quality pork and bacon.

John Stone – bring their expertise and wealth of experience to Irish lamb. The seven day matured cuts are selected from lambs indigenous to Co. Roscommon and Connemara regions.

Kish Fish – Ireland’s most progressive and forward thinking sea food supplier. Kish Fish supply the finest of seafood throughout Ireland.

Keeling’s – a family owned Irish company. Their expertise in growing started back in 1926 when they began growing fruits and salads and supplying them to the Irish market.

Pallas Foods – are in existence for over 30 years. They are the largest and most dedicated provider of high quality produce to the Irish market.

Glanbia – is one of the best-selling award winning brands in Ireland. Their portfolio includes Kilmeaden and Premier milk.

Riverview Eggs – From Watergrasshill on the outskirts of Cork. They are the largest producer of free range eggs within Ireland.

 

DELEGATES

Exercise                       Email in advance of conference with local walking and running routes and notification about being a  paperless conference.

Local             Engagement with local artists, community theatre groups and NGOs.

COACHING              

Coaches booked are low emission Euro IV engines with auto shut off which significantly reduces their carbon footprint. Field visits will have multiple groups per coach to reduce carbon emissions. With the conference dinner taking place in the RDS, this reduces the need for more coaching.

EXHIBITION      

Reusing second hand carpet instead of buying new.

WASTE   

Multiple waste bins at rubbish points to encourage recycling.
